Upcoming UW Task Force meeting

The UW Task Force on Restructuring and Operational Flexibilities will hold its next meeting on Wednesday, June 6.  The task force will discuss a number of items including tuition, compensation, personnel systems, and proposed capital planning and procurement flexibilities. View the agenda and supplemental materials for Wednesday's meeting.
Governor's Council on College and Workforce Readiness
On May 29, the Governor's Council on College and Workforce Readiness held its second meeting. Council members were provided an overview of academic and career planning efforts taking place in other states as well as a presentation by the WI Department of Workforce Development (DWD) outlining Wisconsin's job needs. The task of the Council is to recommend policies and programs to improve students' college and career readiness.  UW System President Kevin Reilly, DPI Superintendent Tony Evers, WTCS President Dan Clancy, and WAICU President Rolf Wegenke serve as members of the Council.  The Commission's next meeting is scheduled for June 19.
Commission on Financial Aid Consolidation and Modernization meeting
The Commission, which is chaired by the Higher Educational Aids Board (HEAB) Executive Secretary, held its first meeting on May 18.  View the Council meeting materials. This commission was created in 2011 Wisconsin Act 176 to study:
  1. The potential for consolidating grant programs administered by HEAB;

  2. Options for providing aid for students who are attending at less than full-time credit loads.
Membership on the Commission includes representatives from UW System, WTCS, and WAICU. The Commission will report its recommendations to HEAB and to the Legislature by Dec 1, 2012.
