Legislative Panel Approves Implementation of New Personnel Systems

Today the Joint Committee on Employment Relations (JCOER) voted 8-0 to allow UW System and UW-Madison to move forward with proposed personnel systems scheduled to begin July 1, 2015. See UW System statement


Governor Signs Financial Aid and Classified Research Bills

This morning, Governor Walker signed into law two financial aid bills supported by the UW System: AB 260, relating to enrollment requirements for recipients of talent incentive grants; and AB 532, relating to Wisconsin Grants.  Last week, the Governor also signed AB 729, relating to classified research at UW System institutions.

 

Senator Leibham Not Running for Re-election

State Senator Joe Leibham (R-Sheboygan) announced he is leaving the Senate to run for Congress. Leibham, first elected to the Senate in 2002, has served several leadership positions during his tenure including President Pro Tempore in 2013.
