Senate Committee Approves C.O.R.E Jobs Act
The Senate Committee on Economic Development took executive action on SB 409, the C.O.R.E Jobs Act.  The committee unanimously adopted Senate Substitute Amendment 1, which included changes supported by the UW System.  The committee then unanimously approved the amended legislation.

Assembly Hearing on AB 597
The Assembly Committee on State Affairs and Homeland Security held a public hearing on AB 597, which would prohibit the UW System from acquiring property by condemnation without Joint Finance Committee approval.  Regent Jeffrey Bartell testified on behalf of the UW System in opposition to this legislation.  (Read the full UW System bill position here.)  No further action was taken by the committee on this bill.
