More changes to Voter ID legislation

The Joint Finance Committee is considering a substitute amendment today on AB 7 relating to voter ID legislation.  The amended legislation makes numerous changes to the bill approved by the Assembly Elections Committee last week. Those changes include removing provisions requiring university student IDs to contain a date of birth and an address. The UW System had requested those specific requirements be removed.  The amendment also added a requirement that student ID cards expire no later than two years after the date of issuance.
