Senate Committee holds Regent confirmation hearings
On Tuesday, September 27, Student Regent appointees Katherine Pointer and Troy Sherven testified before the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Forestry, and Higher Education. A vote has not yet been scheduled.
The Committee also heard testimony on SB 184, regarding the reporting date for the Special Task Force on UW Restructuring and Operational Flexibilities.
Board of Regent Composition bill advances
On Thursday, September 29, the Assembly Colleges and Universities Committee voted 9-1 to approve AB39 and SB28, legislation that would adopt geographical representation for the Board of Regents.
The committee also approved AB 142 relating to the enrollment requirements for recipients of Talent Incentive Grants and AB 144 relating to creating a commission on financial aid consolidation and modernization.
