University Leaders Testify Before UW Task Force

Special Task Force on UW Restructuring and Operational Flexibilities Holds January Meeting

On Wednesday, January 11, the UW Task Force met for the second time. UW System President Kevin Reilly and Chancellors Deborah Ford (UW-Parkside), Charles Sorensen (UW-Stout), and Richard Wells (UW-Oshkosh) all testified before the 17-member task force, chaired by Regent Michael Falbo.  The entire Wisconsin Eye coverage of the meeting can be found here. Grants for High-Need Schools

Also on Wednesday, the UW System announced a $1.1 million in grant money that will go toward enhancing teachers' knowledge and skills in teaching core learning to pre-kindergarten through 12th grade students.

The grants, funded by the U.S. Department of Education as part of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, range from $54,000 to $157,000.
