Ziegelbauer will not run for re-election in 2012

On Friday, Rep. Bob Ziegelbauer (I), Manitowoc, announced that he will not run in the upcoming November election. Ziegelbauer has represented the 25th district, including his hometown of Manitowoc, for 20 years in the State Assembly.

"I feel it is time to step aside, to give someone else the chance to serve," Ziegelbauer said in a statement.

Special Task Force on UW Restructuring and Operational Flexibilities will meet January 11

In its second meeting Wednesday morning, the UW Task Force will discuss the relationship between the UW System and UW institutions. UW System President Kevin Reilly and Chancellors Deborah Ford (UW-Parkside), Charles Sorensen (UW-Stout) and Richard Wells (UW-Oshkosh) are scheduled to speak to the 17-member task force, chaired by Regent Michael Falbo. Upcoming Higher Education committee meetings

The Senate committee on Agriculture, Forestry and Higher Education will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, January 10. On Thursday, January 12, the Assembly Colleges and Universities Committee will hold a public hearing to discuss topics relating to technical colleges. The legislature will reconvene on January 17.
