Joint Committee Hearings Held on Budget Lapse and Educational Reform Package

The Joint Finance Committee met on Wednesday, February 15  to consider a Department of Administration (DOA) budget lapse plan for the 2011-12 fiscal year. The Committee approved the DOA recommendation on a 12-4 vote.  Click here to see Wisconsin Eye coverage of the lapse meeting. (1 hr. 24 min.)

Earlier that day, a Joint public hearing of the Assembly and Senate Education Committees was held on SB 461, the governor's educational reform bill. A panel of UW System representatives testified at the hearing regarding provisions relating to teacher preparation.
