Recent Committee Actions

The Assembly Colleges and Universities committee held a public hearing yesterday on AB 322 relating to access to instructional materials for students in higher education with disabilities. The UW Board of Regents has endorsed this bill and its Senate companion, SB 485.  See the Regents' support position here.  The committee approved the legislation on a 6-0 vote. The committee also voted 5-1 in favor of AB 473,  which would delay by one year the prohibition of UW System from being a member of WiscNet. The Senate companion (SB 375) was approved earlier this year by the Senate Higher Education Committee on a 6-1vote. Both bills require floor votes in their respective houses before the legislature concludes its last general floor period of the year on March 15.
