Recent Legislative Activity

Governor Appoints Assembly Majority Leader Scott Suder to the PSC
Governor Walker has named Rep. Scott Suder (R-Abbotsford) as the new Public Service Commission Administrator for Water Compliance and Consumer Affairs.  Suder has represented the 69th Assembly District since 1998. See Governor's announcement.

Senate Veterans Committee Approves Veterans Priority Registration Bill
Yesterday, the Senate Committee on Transportation, Public Safety, and Veterans and Military Affairs voted 5-0 vote to approve AB 201, which would provide certain veterans priority in registering for courses at UW and WTCS campuses.  The bill was approved by the Assembly in June.

Senate Higher Ed Committee to Hear Student Regent Appointment Next Week
The Senate Universities and Technical Colleges Committee has added the appointment of UW System Student Regent Chad Landes to the Aug. 28th public hearing agenda. In other action, the committee removed SB 222 (Responsible Action) as an agenda item.  For more information, please see revised notice.
