This Week's Committee Activity

JCIPT Hearing
On March 17, the Joint Committee on Information Policy and Technology held a hearing on the status of UW System IT projects.   Tom Anderes, Senior Vice President for Administration & Fiscal Affairs, testified on behalf of the UW System.  For more information on the hearing, see coverage by the Badger Herald.

Confirmation Hearing for Bradley and Manydeeds
The Senate Committee on Agriculture and Higher Education held a hearing on the appointment of Edmund Manydeeds and the reappointment of Mark J. Bradley to the UW System Board of Regents.  Following the hearing, the committee unanimously approved both appointments in executive session.

Manydeeds has been appointed by Governor Doyle to succeed Regent Eileen Connolly-Keesler for a seven-year term beginning in May 2010.  For more information on his appointment, see this article in Badger Herald and coverage by WKOW 27.  Regent Bradley has been reappointed to a second seven-year term also beginning May 2010 (Wausau Daily Herald coverage).  Both appointments must now be approved by the full Senate.
