Membership on Legislative Study Commitees Finalized

The Joint Legislative Council has approved committee member appointments for the 2010 Legislative Council Study Committees. This year, the UW System will be represented on 13 of the 16 committees, by 23 members hailing from 9 different UW System institutions....

Study committees are established during the Legislature's interim period in even-numbered years to examine major policy issues. The study committees are made up of Legislators and citizens who are interested in or knowledgeable about the study topic. Often, the work of these committees leads to new legislation.

Among the committees of particular interest to UW System in 2010 are:

· Health Care Access (member list)

· Review of Higher Education and Financial Aid Programs (member list)

· Strategic Job Creation (member list)
