State legislative update

Assembly still debating budget repair bill
The Assembly debate over the budget repair bill has entered its third day.  Early this morning, Democrats agreed to limit the number of additional amendments considered to 38.  After action on the amendments is completed, the chamber will debate final passage of the bill. Some amendments are already posted on the Assembly website. Live coverage of the Assembly session can be viewed on the Wisconsin Eye website.

Voter ID bill considered in Senate
The state Senate approved an amendment pushing off requirements of a voter ID bill until the 2012 elections.  A final vote on the bill was not taken because of lack of a quorum, with Senate Democrats still not present.

Biennial budget
The biennial budget address, originally scheduled for February 22, will now be delivered by Governor Walker on March 1 at the Capitol.
